Hundreds Attend 2009 "Leadership That Inspires" WorkMatters Conference

"The leader is the person who stands up when others stand back." Those were the words of Tony Blair, former prime minister of the United Kingdom, on Friday, May 8, 2009, as part of the sixth annual WorkMatters Leadership Conference. The conference was held at The Church at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers, Ark., with almost 1,100 registrants. Of the 400 simulcast sites and over 50,000 people watching worldwide via satellite, the WorkMatters conference was the largest.

This year's theme, "Leadership That Inspires," featured ten internationally acclaimed business leaders, authors and leadership experts, including: John Maxwell, bestselling author and acclaimed leadership expert; Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Jack Nicklaus, internationally acclaimed golf champion; and Linda Kaplan Thaler, creator of the Aflac ad campaign. The ideas and information shared by all the speakers provided motivation and inspiration for leadership in today's challenging times.
