May 2008
Welcome to summer!

As we have wrapped up our annual Leadership Conference in April and our last Eight-to-Five Unplugged of this season in May, we have had a brief window to exhale and survey the carnage!  We've used this time to refocus, refuel and reprioritize.

So, where are you in your work year?  Do you need some time to pause and to realign?  If so, I have a prescription for some pain relief in this month's MyWorkMatters eNewsletter. We had a fantastic gathering at our recent Eight-to-Five Unplugged at the Holiday Inn in Springdale, Ark. Steve Grave's talk on having "The Summer of Your Life: Making Progress Where it Matters Most"  is a powerful elixir for us all. And now it is available to you! I hope you will invest 25 minutes over the weekend to listen to this talk on our website.  Just click on the link below in our What's Happening @ WorkMatters section.  I promise you'll get realigned on the things of strategic value in your life just in time for summer.

Also, I want to point you to the new videos we have on our site that highlight several business men and women's perspectives on faith and work and how God is using WorkMatters to open their eyes. Check it out in our Faith@Work Testimonial section below.

I pray you have the greatest summer of your life. We hope we can put some gas in your tank.

Grateful,
David Roth, President
ROTH RECOMMENDS

The Shack is a page turning story that h2007 WorkMatters Leadership Conference 150 dpi graphicas
moved from relative obscurity to #5 on the Amazon.com best selling books list. It was featured this week in USA Today. While this fictional story is a gripping roller coaster ride, the real focus of the book is on one man's indescribable weekend encounter with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The book requires an open and discerning mind and heart, as it paints a picture of God's desire to have a relationship with us.
FAITH @ WORK LESSON

"May I Have Your Attention Please"

Being intentional and prayerful with our time can lead to increased productivity and overall job fulfillment.  Based on scripture found in Ephesians 5:15-17, Sam Bates encourages us to make the most of our time, and seek God's will for every area of our life, including our work.

FAITH @ WORK NEWS

"When God Invades the Office"
Charisma Magazine

Recently in Charisma magazine... Tommi Femrite, author of Praying With Purpose wrote this article concerning prayer in the workplace.  She suggests that our prayers can make a significant difference.  And when we choose to pray for our workplace, God will place us strategically in the right place at the right time to pray so His will is done there.
