Workmatters Preparation

God has used my entire career and faith journey to prepare me for this leadership role at Workmatters. At J.B. Hunt Transport (northwest Arkansas), I learned faith@work leadership and managing the details; at Manugistics (Rockville, MD) I learned how to grow a business and what the purpose of my work really should be; at American Software (Atlanta, GA) I learned how to deal with the fear of working in a new industry (software) and how to marry the woman of my dreams; at McKesson Corporation (San Francisco, CA) I learned how to lead in diversity and how to work hard/play hard; and at Mass Merchandisers (Harrison, AR) I learned how awesome work really can be and that I actually had something to offer the world.

Faith

I’m a recovering Sunday Christian, growing in my relationship with Jesus, who feels incredibly blessed to help leaders live for Christ 24/7.

Fun

Date night, anything my family is doing, running, Arkansas Razorbacks, canoeing the Buffalo River, hiking, biking, and any vacation…period.

Hero

Jesus (first because thats where I want him to be), my Dad more so every day, Coach John Wooden for his wisdom, Sam Walton for his vision and work ethic, Tommy VanZandt for his faith, perseverance and attitude.

Best Advice

From my friend nephew Will Roth: “It’s not the grades you make, it’s the hands you shake.” This channels me to learn from and love people well.

Anything my son Dylan has played/produced, contemporary, jazz, podcast maniac.

Dream Destination

The summit of any mountain and a trip back to Australia with my family.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
