“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” – Colossians 3:23-24
This week’s video featured Donnie Smith, Former CEO, Tyson Foods. Donnie shared his experience of seeking God’s wisdom and guidance when making career decisions. What God led him to do didn’t always make sense at the time. But Donnie chose to bloom where he was planted, and God used that time to prepare Donnie for the significant calling on his life (Ephesians 2:10).
God brings us to places in our work that don’t always make sense, but He will never abandon us (Hebrews 13:5). When you do your work with all your heart no matter what, you not only honor God with the work you are doing today, you also allow Him to prepare and develop you for greater things.
Challenge yourself this week to bloom where you’re planted.
- Do all of the work you do – from the most mundane to the most challenging – with all of your heart.
- Seek God for wisdom and direction in every project and conversation.
- Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas in which He wants you to grow so He can prepare you for bigger things at work.
