Have you ever had an incredible leader you wanted to emulate? What was different about this person that made you want to follow?
Good leaders get the job done. But great leaders live on. You don’t need to look too far to find this in action. When we read about Jesus, all the good he did, his integrity, and His ultimate self-sacrifice, we see this in action. So many of his followers put aside their own needs, sacrificing themselves even unto death.
But here’s the clincher: Is that sacrifice real for you in the workplace? How are you following Jesus as the model of a great leader? How does his mission live on in you?
Being like Jesus doesn’t mean leaving your Bible open at your desk. This can be an opening into deeper conversation, for sure, but nothing is as powerful as being known. When you take the time to listen to others, to learn what makes them tick and understand their motivations, you’re following Jesus’ lead. And when you do that, they’ll start asking you why.
