Many of us may feel pressure to perform in the workplace, in relationships, and even in our spiritual lives. But faith is not performance driven.
When it comes to living out your faith, to integrating it into all of life, don’t worry about performing. You don’t need to be on display. There is no yearly review process, and there are no lofty metrics to worry about hitting. It is you and God.
Following Christ is not about quantity of time studying scripture or Sundays spent sitting in church. There is no algorithm that quantifies the success of one’s personal faith journey. Anyone who tells you otherwise may be practicing their righteousness in front of you. Don’t let another’s show of righteousness pressure you to define what your relationship with the Lord needs to look like. And certainly keep this in mind when encouraging others to grow in their faith. Share your faith, absolutely. But share the joy of it, not the methods. Show compassion, care and empathy. Be approachable like Jesus. This will revolutionize your life and the lives of those around you.
