“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” – Ephesians 5:1-2
This week’s video featured Ross Cully, co-founder and CEO of The Harvest Group. Ross shared the importance of keeping an eternal perspective in our work. Two significant ways to do that are by loving the people we work with through our actions and doing our work with excellence.
Our greatest calling is to reflect Christ to those around us. No matter how difficult people at work may be at times, we must remember the high price Christ paid for our sins. In fact, if everyone was always easy to work with, we would have less opportunity to demonstrate Christ-likeness. When you and I can maintain a positive attitude in the midst of tension, when we can forgive even when we’ve been treated unfairly, when our actions are loving toward everyone we work with and we do our best under all circumstances, we present a much more compelling example to those around us.
Challenge yourself to let Christ’s light shine powerfully through you this week.
- Forgive anyone who wrongs you and give the people who let you down the same grace God gave you (Colossians 3:13).
- Cast the difficulties you experience at work this week on God so you can perform your work with excellence no matter what (1 Peter 5:7).
- Look for opportunities to serve others at work selflessly with love (Galatians 5:13).
