The Mystery of the Incarnation

The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word. The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one. Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing! — came into being without him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.

The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish.

-John 1:1-5,14 The Message

Few passages in the New Testament are more poetic and revelatory. The God of the universe took on human flesh and walked this earth at a distinct time, in a particular place, with a specific people. This is the mystery of the incarnation.

While our faith has beliefs and core doctrines it must be embodied and lived out…at home, in our neighborhood, and at our work.

On behalf of the entire Workmatters team, thank you for living out your faith at work. So many of you have been an encouragement to us as the gospel is enfleshed in you and shared through your vocation.

Have a very Merry Christmas!
